I have been teaching for 12 years, having previously worked in insurance in the city. I have lived in Glemsford since 1981 and both my daughters went to Glemsford school. I became involved with the school first as a parent helper and secretary of the P.T.A.  Whilst studying for my Open University degree, I was employed as a teaching assistant at Glemsford.  Little did I know then that I would end up working as a class teacher in the same school! I have been actively involved in the school under various guises since 1987, and have seen many changes over the years (all for the better I have to say.)

My latest claim to fame is that I, along with two friends, one the 'Glemsford's got Talent' show under the name of 'The Tommettes'. It was all rather tongue in cheek and we were very surprised to win, but as Simon Cowell hasn't contacted us yet I won't be giving up my day job in the forseeable future!
