Do you wish that you had more skills in cooking? Would you like to learn how to make chocolate crunch? Then read on. Mrs Pryke has kindly offered to run some simple cookery classes with you having a go. These will take place in school and will either be on a Friday afternoon or in an evening, day to be decided. We will be sending out a letter asking for your opinions of the best time so watch out for this and send it back to school as soon as possible. |

We have now had our half-term hoilday and are moving on towards Christmas. The first half-term was very busy. We had a very successful harvest supper and the staff and I were very pleased to share this with so many parents and children. The entertainment was, once again, very good with lots of children able to join with him on stage. The year three and four children had a Roman Day and then the whole school held a history theme day. These special days are throroughly enjoyed by children and staff and help to reinforce the curriculum in an exciting and interesting way. On the P.D. Day the staff visited the National Gallery and spent time studying the pictures in readiness for the art work that is taking place later on this year. It was a very late return home, not reaching Glemsford until 12 midnight. The quiz night was a great success. We will be holding another in the spring term, with a difference. All the teams will prepare a set of questions themselves so get studying and look aout for the date nearer the time. The next big event after that is the Christmas Cheer. This is always a very successful day with gifts to buy for Christmas as well as refreshments and games for the children. Or famous chefs will once again be cooking burgers and hot dogs and roasting chestnuts. A very exciting way to lead up to Christmas. We are still looking for a van for the Christmas float. If any one has a van that we could use then once again please call the school office. |

Welcome to the new school year 2008-2009. I am already busy negotiating plans and arrangements for the new building that we will need for the extension of our school into a 3-11 age range facility. Our year three pupils will now be with us until they leave year 6. With this in mind the staff and I are beginning the task of rewriting the curriculum so that yea rthree have a a complete curriculum path. We have many things happening that are already in the diary for this year. Please call the office for more details. Everyone is welcome to visit the school by calling the office beforehand. |

Monday 16th June was our annual sports day. All the children in the school took part in a range of activities in teams before competing in races against each other. Luckily the sun was out and the day was a success! See the gallery for lots of photos |
