This term we welcomed two new children to our year 6 class, and hope that the whole class will all enjoy their final year at the school.
In literacy we have been studying poetry and, in particular, the power of imagery. We have enjoyed reading and comparing lots of poems by poets old and new.
Numeracy has seen us re-visiting decimals and extending our knowledge to multiplying and dividing them.
Our topic this term is Who Do You Think You Are?. We have been investigating our own family history and producing our family trees. We have also been looking into the history of the school and the village. After finding out about our past, we began looking to the future. We thought about our aspirations for the future and what we needed to do to achieve these.
Last week an artist come to visit us and introduce us to pop art. All the children have been producing self portraits in the style of leading pop artists, including Andy Warhole and Roy Lichtenstein.
In P.E. we have also been lucky enough to have a coach from Stour Valley School to teach us football skills, and in our other P.E. lesson we have been exploring the skills needed to take part in orienteering.
