Monday 5th December 2011 – Friday 9th December 2011

What a busy week! In Literacy, we continued our work on traditional tales, finding the baddies in different traditional stories and creating our own baddie. We ended up with vampires, monsters, trolls, wolves and foxes. We had to think of some interesting words to describe the baddies and found lots of adjectives that described them well.

In Numeracy, we carried on working on doubling and halving. We had to solve the problem of halving different amounts of Christmas puddings for Father Christmas, because Mrs Christmas felt that he was eating too many. However, Father Christmas felt that because he was only having half the amount of Christmas puddings, he should have double the amount of mince pies, so the next day, we had to double different amounts of mince pies.

We also had the excitement of performing our Christmas production. We performed “Born in a Barn” with the children in Bat class and the Ducklings. The performances went really well. We remembered our words and sang our songs beautifully. We all felt extremely proud and excited to show everyone how hard we had been working.

In Special Mentions at the end of the week, the whole class received a Special Mention for working so well together on the production and Alfie collected that for us. Liam G and Scarlet received a Special Mention for staying focused in all the excitement and for their great behaviour during playtimes. Monty received a Special Mention for enthusiastic work in Drama club and Mrs Gray gave a Special Mention to Jez from the Bat class for working patiently with the younger children in Drama club.
