This week we began our colour topic in earnest by looking at the story of Elmer the patchwork elephant. On Monday as well as reading the story we all had a go at painting some of the brightly coloured squares that make Elmer so different. As usual we changed our library books and even managed some time on the climbing equipment in the playground. Tuesday was computers and PE. This week it was the turn of the green group to go up to the computer suite and work on Clicker Paint. In PE we started some dance work on elephants. This involved moving like an elephant and then moving in some ways that elephants can't (elephants can't jump). We finished off by getting out the mats and practising some rolling - well done to Austin who showed us all how to do a perfect forward roll. On Wednesday we spent some time making our Christmas cakes - yummy. The smell has lingered in the Nursery ever since. Everyone had a stir and made a wish. Thursday some of our group went into the Woodlands sensory room, an activity which is proving very popular. We also went into assembly with the rest of the school and played some number games. Friday was 'Children in Need' day and all the activities in Nursery revolved around Pudsey. No special mentions this week so there will be twice as many next week. |
