Another busy week for the Little Monkeys. The school are in the middle of their 'showing assemblies' at the moment so we have had a change from the norm this week with assemblies on Tuesday and Thursday. On Thursday we saw the dinosaur work that the Ducklings had done and on Thursday it was the turn of the Bats which was very exciting for us as our children have a large number of brothers and sisters in the year 2 class.
Our topic this week was all about 'Things I like'. We started off at carpet time talking about the things that we had done at the weekend and other things we like to do. Our discussion moved on to the food we like to eat, the television programmes we like to watch and the animals that we like. Using 'google' we then found pictures of some of the things we like and cut them out to make a collage. Some nice speeaking and listening and some excellent cutting and sticking - well done. In fact we got so involved in our pictures that it carried over to Tuesday and we managed to miss our PE.
Number this week focused on shape and we played the other side of the 'Dotty Dinosaur' game with children recognising and matching squares, circles, diamonds, rectangles and semi circles.
The blue group cooked pizzas for us this week and we hope you enjoyed the ones they brought home.
Friday was the usual wheeled toys which is always very popular, and music. The children enjoyed removing the '5 fat sausages' from the pan as they went bang. No special mentions this week as Mrs Steele was away at a conference but we hope to see you on Monday instead. |
