We are all well and truly settled back into Nursery now and everyone is getting used to our routines. Monday we started the week by thinking about "Growing Up'. We sat on the carpet and looked at some pictures of children and adults and tried to put them in the right order. Everyone seemed to know that they started life as a baby and that they had been a toddler but they seemed a little unsure about what would happen to them as they grew up. We also went out and spent some time on the outdoor play equipment. Tuesday was PE day and although we still haven't been brave enough to get everyone changed we did manage to change into our trainers or plimsolls before we went outside. We spent our time on the playground with bats, balls, quoits and the football. Once we had our shoes back on we played some colour recognition games. Wednesday Mrs Harvey cooked buns with the red group and the green group brought in some things for 'Show and Tell'. Some of the other children had some good questions to ask them about their toys. Mr Lucas kindly put the basketball net up for us so we had great fun taking turns. Thursday four children went into the sensory room for the first time. We did some more work on careful listening and used the musical instruments to play'Grandmas footsteps'. We started to learn a little French and it has been lovely to hear some children say 'Bonjour' at register time in the mornings. Friday was a busy day with computers, wheeled toys, number songs and special mentions. Our special mentions this week went to Austin, Oliver and Jaden and our star of the week was Ahmed who joins in with all our activities with no fuss. Our colouring competition results were: 1st Tai 2nd Jaden 3rd Henry Well done to all of you. |
