The first few weeks of the term have just flown by here in Year 5, we have been doing allsorts. In Numeracy we have already looked through place value, and have learnt how to find the perimeter and area of different shapes, even triangles! We are now looking at different angles and how to measure them. In Literacy we have been finding out how to write accurate instructions. We have managed to write a recipe for how to make ourselves, a sprinkle of happiness here and a chopped up football there, hectic stuff. We have also written instructions for how to draw pictures, and tested them to check that they worked. In Science we are orbiting around the topic of the Earth Sun and Moon. So far it has been out of this world…..insert laugh here. We have been studying the history of our families and the local area in our topic ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ and will be continuing to look at our family trees this week. AHOOOO, in PE we are learning the All Black Haka, we are working hard on our scary faces! |
